Today we’re taking a walk south on Las Vegas Boulevard, starting at the base of the Stratosphere and making our way toward Circus Circus.
This stretch of the Strip is a little rougher in parts, and it’s definitely got a different vibe from the center Strip’s touristy glitz. We begin by passing the Aztec Inn Casino near the base of the Stratosphere, and we walk a somewhat sketchy sidewalk area with a boarded up and graffitied building while interesting characters move nearby.
A flashing blue police style light reminds us that we’re not near the fancy resorts, and we continue past a tattoo parlor and smoke shop before coming to the Bonanza “World’s Largest Gift Shop.”
At the intersection of Las Vegas Blvd and Sahara Avenue, we pass the city-county boundary and leave the official extent of the City of Las Vegas to move into Clark County. — The area people think of as “Vegas” isn’t technically the city of “Las Vegas”.
Continuing south, we spot magazine racks advertising things for “non-solo festivities”, take note of the bollards stopping cars from running on the sidewalks, and see a lot of quiet, dimly lit sidewalk sections.
Passing the Hilton Grand Vacations Club building, we keep walking along an empty storefront, which may or may not have ever had a tenant, and we then move past the now shuttered Perception Digital Art Experience.
Toward the end of the walk, we see the Sphere off in the distance and also take note of some of the odd, poorly painted sign updates on a nearby store before we arrive at Circus Circus.
If you’re curious what the north Strip looks like in 2025 or if you just want to see a side of Las Vegas that feels a little different than the bustling tourist areas, this walkthrough gives you a real-time, natural view.
