Today we’re heading to Logandale, Nevada (about an hour drive outside of Las Vegas) for the Clark County Fair & Rodeo. — Clark County is over 8,000 square miles, so it’s got both over-the-top cities like Las Vegas within it as well as more rural locations like Logandale.
This yearly event brings together animals, carnival rides, fair food, and some ol’ fashioned rodeo riding.
We begin at the cattle show, where local youth show off the animals they’ve been raising. From there, we take a walk over to the next building where we check out some 4-H animals like goats and horses. We even see a human baby playing in the pig playpen… while the pigs are in it, too!
Not far from those animals, we pass a stilt walker, then we pass a kettle corn booth and a booth selling turkey legs nearby. Continuing our walk, we see a mechanical bull set up, some human hamster on water activity, and the Showcase Stage where performances rotate throughout the day. Up next is cloggers.
Sales booths and local vendors are scattered around the fairgrounds selling everything from hot tubs to crafts and lots of fair food. We swing by to see the group of young cloggers on stage, then spot a booth that caught my eye in particular. It’s a pretzel stand made to resemble a cuckoo clock with little figurines rotating on top.
We see a cheesy pig racing event, a vendor offering pony rides, and then we walk through an exhibit hall full of local agricultural entries and art.
Finally, we make our way into the carnival area, where we check out the rides and carnival games before ending the day with the main event, the rodeo.
